Below is further information about the questions asked of staff at <br />the May 26 Council Meeting. <br /> <br />Best Value Procurement Process <br /> <br />The Best Value Procurement is a process that considers factors other than only <br />price, such as quality and expertise to select a vendor for a project. The process <br />generally has prerequisites a vendor needs to meet prior to becoming a qualified <br />proposal. For the Eagles Nest, the prerequisites included: <br /> <br /> A not to exceed cost of $413,230 <br /> Attending an on-site inspection <br /> Performance on three similar sized projects <br /> Provide information showing the proposed structure is in compliance with <br />all applicable codes and standards <br /> Affidavit of Non-Collusion <br /> Plan meets the design conditions set forward in the supplementary <br />specifications. <br /> Post and pad system minimum size to be 2" or 3.5" non-padded system <br /> Foam posts shall be single piece vinyl coated material with safety pull ties <br />throughout <br /> Double molded platforms <br /> 16 gauge, 1/2 inch steel vinyl coated metal mesh netting <br /> Meets and identify ADA compliance and routes <br /> Meets project timeline <br /> <br />Proposals that met these prerequisites were moved along to the next stage in the <br />process which was the presentation and scoring of the design.
