appointed the Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission and staff to <br />serve as an advisory committee to evaluate, score and recommend a preferred <br />vendor to Council for approval. The scoring of the various proposals by the <br />advisory committee resulted in the proposal that was recommended. <br /> <br />Due to the process being used, options at this point are to approve the <br />recommended vendor, or reject all bids that were received. <br /> <br />Preferred Vendor and Product <br /> <br />Commercial Recreation Specialists (CRS) based in Verona, WI submitted the <br />proposal that received the highest scores and therefor is recommended. <br /> <br />Scoring Results <br />Vendors Plan #1 Plan #2 <br />CRS 183.86 178.21 <br />Soft Play 157.09 160.21 <br />International Play, Co. 153.46 153.74 <br />Orca 136.60 118.92 <br /> <br /> <br />CRS’ plans actually finished first and second in the scoring process, showing the <br />advisory committee felt CRS equipment was the best fit for the Eagles Nest <br />Indoor Playground Replacement. <br /> <br />CRS is the rep for Cheer Amusement based in China. Cheer Amusement has <br />been in the industry since 1994 and has become a leading manufacturer and <br />world class designer of indoor playground equipment system s. They specialize <br />in indoor playground systems, toddler play systems, Ball Blaster equipment and <br />systems, motion soft play systems, interactive play systems, trampoline <br />parks, sculpture soft play, theming and decoration, inflatable and airtight <br />systems, challenge courses and playground projects for shopping centers. <br /> <br /> <br />Playground Safety <br /> <br />As stated above, one of the prerequisites stipulated the vendors must provide <br />information showing the proposed structure is in compliance with all applicable <br />codes and standards. CRS identified the project conforms to these safety <br />standards. <br /> <br />One of the larger pieces is the conformance to the American Society for Testing <br />and Materials 1918-12 which is the Standard Safety Performance Specification <br />for Soft Contained Play Equipment.
