 Change Order 19 includes excavation of unsuitable materials and replacing with On-site borrow <br />($16,763.50). <br /> Change Order 20 includes import of select granular in pad areas where contaminants where <br />removed ($61,055.92). <br /> Change Order 22 includes installation of utilities for Lion drinking fountain ($3,950.00) <br /> Changer Order 23 includes concrete curb sidewalk changes, extension of existing riprap, and <br />raising an existing sanitary MH ($8,189.50) <br /> Change Order 25 includes a credit for native seeding that will be coordinated by Ramsey County <br />($2,750.00). <br /> Change Order 26 includes additional curb around the tot lot to align with the playground <br />($759.22). <br /> Change Order 27 includes updates to 14th and Searles to remove the street entrance from this <br />location into the park ($11,967.77). <br /> <br />None of the above described work was anticipated at the time of bid and would need to be paid for by <br />change order. The total contract sum approved with all change orders to date is $2,396,328.27. <br /> <br />Explanation: New Brighton and Ramsey County have cooperated in the planning of improvements that <br />were included as part of City Project 16-5, New Brighton Lions Park. The City of New Brighton is the <br />lead and is responsible for administering City Project 16-5. Under the proposed Cooperative Agreement, <br />the parties intend to assign authority and responsibility for the described work, and to identify financial <br />responsibilities of the respective parties for the project. Ramsey County and the City of New Brighton are <br />working with their legal teams to address minor changes to the cost sharing percentages and maintenance <br />responsibilities currently indicated in the “Signed” Cooperative Agreement. <br /> <br />Cost for removing contaminated soils for the parking lot and restroom will be shared, whereas <br />contamination found beneath the shelter will be the county’s responsibility as indicated in the summary of <br />our agreement below: <br />Costs <br /> Ramsey County agrees to pay the cost for the construction of 50% of the improvements on the <br />County’s property, including trail and parking improvements as shown in Figure 1 of Exhibit A. <br /> Ramsey County agrees to design and pay 100% of the future shelter and restroom construction <br />costs, and upon completion the City will reimburse 50% of the restroom costs. <br /> New Brighton agrees to pay for all of remaining improvements in New Brighton Lions Park. <br /> <br />Costs and Funding: This project is funded from a variety of sources including: Park Dedication Fees <br />(secured and future), Rice Creek Watershed District (Hansen Project), Utility Funds, the Redevelopment <br />Fund, and Fund #606 (Pavement Management), a Lions Club Donation and Ramsey County. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />_____________________________ <br />Craig G.
