Community Room Usage

The Community Room was reserved a total of 220 days in 2016. These
reservations include everything from celebrations (weddings, graduation party,
quinceanera), business/training meetings, church service to Parks and
Recreation programs.

Each of these different events has unique set up requirements. Some have
tables and chairs set up for a banquet type event. Others require a theater type
set up with rows of chairs all facing the front of the room. The Community Room
also hosts various expos that require the room to be set up with different vendor
stations. To help provide a good experience for the users, other amenities are
available for the groups to use including microphones, projectors and staging.
The set up requirements result in up to six staff hours to prepare the Community
Room for a reservation.

Neighborhood Center Usage

The use of the Neighborhood Centers was brought up during the discussion. To
help provide a better picture of the usage, staff researched the reservations. The
numbers below are from 2016

- Freedom – 173 Reservations
- Hansen – 189 Reservations
- Sunny Square – 126 Reservations
- Totem Pole – 39 Reservations

These reservations include private reservations as well as Parks and Recreation
programs such as Edventures Summer Day Care, fitness programs or outdoor
rinks. It is anticipated the numbers will increase in 2017 due to the addition of
the Summer Playground program being added to the Neighborhood Centers.

Totem Pole does see less usage due to a couple of different reasons. One is a
lack of an outdoor rink at Totem Pole. A second being the lack of parking at the
park, leading to a less desirable location to host an event.

Each reservation brings along a requirement to clean and prepare the
Neighborhood Center for use. This includes cleaning tables and chairs,
vacuuming and mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, checking inventories of
garbage bags and toiletry products. These duties result in up to six staff hours to
clean and prepare a site for a function.

NBCC Usage

Facility use can be somewhat seasonal. To help provide an overview, a week
range of reservations in Room 224 is being shared from the months of January,
