Authorizing the Acceptance of a 2017 Metropolitan Council Stormwater Grant. <br />2. Authorizing Preparation of Plans and Specs. <br />3. Authorizing Mayor and City Manager to Enter Memorandum of Understanding with Rice Creek <br />Watershed District. <br />4. Designating the Director of Community Assets and Development as the Engineer for this Project <br /> <br />Legislative History: On February 23, 2016, the City Council authorized the Director of Community <br />Assets and Development to enter into the Professional Services Agreement between the City of New <br />Brighton and Anderson-Johnson Associates, Inc. (AJA) for Final Design Services concerning North <br />Park. <br /> <br />On April 26, 2016, the City Council authorized the application for a 2016 Metropolitan Council <br />Stormwater Reuse Grant, knowing the City would provide 25% of the funds for the project and the <br />Metropolitan Council would provide 75% of the funds for the project. We were not selected. <br /> <br />On March 28, 2017, the City Council authorized the application for a 2017 Metropolitan Council <br />Stormwater Reuse Grant, knowing the City would provide 25% of the funds for the project and the <br />Metropolitan Council would provide 75% of the funds for the project. <br /> <br />On May 26, 2017, the City was notified the Metropolitan Council awarded a $150,000 Stormwater <br />Reuse Grant to the Rice Creek Watershed District for the design and construction of a stormwater reuse <br />system at New Brighton Lions Park. The City is obligated to pay $50,000, for a total project cost of <br />$200,000. <br /> <br />On July 26, 2017, the Rice Creek Watershed District Board of Managers met at the Shoreview City Hall <br />Council Chambers to consider and approve the Metropolitan Council grant agreement and MOA with <br />the City of New Brighton for the Stormwater Reuse Grant at New Brighton Lions Park. <br /> <br />AGENDA SECTION: Consent <br />REPORT DATE: August 3, 2017 <br />MEETING DATE: August 8, 2017
