Chair Updates
Commissioner Fields mentioned the Farmers Market at the United
Theological Seminary starts on June 28.
C. Commission Reports on Parks
Driftwood: Johnson. Noticed a few newer trees growing well. Gas work by
street, kind of muddy there. Mostly done.
Freedom: Brunell. Park seems in pretty good shape. The drinking
fountain did not work. The one on the other side did not work either.
Looked at the tennis courts. There was trash there. Could the trash can be
moved to the entrance of the tennis court? Pot holes in the parking lot by
school entrance.
Hansen: Fields. There are some tree branches that need to be trimmed
along the path on the west side of hockey rinks. There is a sand box.
Parks Superintendent Chris Wolla commented it is a Gaga pit. An Eagle
Scout came up with the idea. It would be good for Freedom with Day Care
and Hansen to be used by summer playgrounds. Signs will be put up for
rules, etc. tennis courts are in need of some repair. Nets sag, add anchors
in the center to make official height.
Hidden Oaks: Quade. Everything looked good. Some people playing
tennis.
Innsbruck: Axberg. Soccer field in use. Playground being used too. Nice
to have the playground close to the field.
Meadow Wood: Eischen. Park looks great. More people using the
basketball court than any other season.
Silver Oaks/Totem Pole: Justin. Not been to Silver Oaks. Totem the
Basketball has not been used as much. Tennis court not used much.
Ballfield starting to be used. Fencing still needs to be fixed. Where the
tennis court is, is quite a distance from homes. So may want to consider it
for pickleball.
Sunny Square/Vermont: McEathron. Vermont looks fine. Not much
activity. Sunny Square - happy to see the Neighborhood Center being
used. Sit and spin removed in May. Will try to put some other variation in
there.
Veterans: Stenglein. Looks good. Getting lots of use on weekend. Now
that school is out getting lots of use during the day. Everything in good
order. Parks Superintendent Chris Wolla The brick bbq base has been
fixed. Much more useable.

D.
