Councilmember Burg encouraged the Council to focus on what levy limit would be approved next Tuesday. <br />She explained she has been asked by residents to continue services at their current level and she supported the <br />City becoming debt free. <br />Mayor Johnson stated she was concerned about not hiring an additional IT person given the fact the Police <br />Department now had body cameras and a license bureau. <br />Councilmember Burg questioned if the projected revenue streams for the license bureau were on the low end. <br />Davitt believed that her estimates were on the high end. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen anticipated the additional IT person could not be hired until sometime in the first <br />quarter and hiring did not typically occur over the holidays. <br />Further discussion ensued regarding how the Council would address LGA. <br />Mayor Johnson encouraged the Council to not be disappointed by a budget that had increases. She anticipated <br />the Council would be able to do some “WOW” things in the near future based on the decisions that are being <br />made today. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen stated he would take a look at “WOW” items after the City was debt free. <br />Councilmember Burg believed the City had a very high standard for its staff and the services it provides. She <br />commented that parks and trails were necessities and were in need of updates. <br />Councilmember Strub stated his main goal for the City was to have debt free streets by 2025. He explained the <br />Council would have to be communicating with the public on how the Council was working to reach this <br />impressive goal. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen committed it would be a “WOW” factor for the City to achieve this goal. <br />Worksession adjourned at 6:27 pm <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Terri Spangrud <br />City Clerk
