information and active engagement for sociologically disadvantage, disabled, youth, elderly and <br />communities. <br />3)Creating a contact list that would be inclusive of all community organizations (business, geographic, <br />cultural, schools, etc.) that could be used by a liaison for notifying them of important updates about the <br />community and in turn create a conduit of communication or input back to the City on important <br />matters affecting different groups in New Brighton. <br />4) The City of New Brighton should strive to create a workforce, including elected and appointed <br />officials and volunteer resources that contain a broad range of diversity including race, gender, <br />language, life experience, and cultural background to improve understanding and effectiveness in <br />dealing with all communities. <br />5) Assist the City in identifying changes to the public spaces in NB that could be changed to be more <br />welcoming to different populations. What specifically could be done? Create a budget and recommend <br />as timeline for implementation. <br />6) Identify ways for the city to engage youth of color. <br />7) Consider whether a permanent City Commission should be created to replace the Task Force. <br />8) Report to Council no later than six months after the first task force meeting is convened regarding their <br />work and recommendations to Council regarding efforts that could be taken to ensure New Brighton is <br />and remains an inclusive community. <br />ADOPTED this 10th day of October, 2017 by the New Brighton City Council with a vote of <br />_____ ayes and _____ nays. <br />Valerie Johnson, Mayor <br />ATTEST: Dean R.
