Consideration of a Resolution approving a 180-day extension of the effective date of the Site <br />Plan and Special Use Permit approved via Resolution 2017-038 for 256 Cleveland AVE SW. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Burg to adopt a Resolution <br />approving a 180-day extension of the effective date of the Site Plan and Special Use Permit approved <br />via Resolution 2017-038 for 256 Cleveland AVE SW. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson questioned why Councilmember Bauman had this item removed from the <br />Consent Agenda. <br />Councilmember Bauman stated she had this item removed because she did not support the item <br />the first time it was before the City Council due to the fact the neighbors opposed the request. <br />Councilmember Strub reported this item was unanimously approved by the Planning <br />Commission after receiving a great deal of input from the neighbors. He welcomed this new <br />business into New Brighton and stated he would be offering his full support to the request. <br />Councilmember Burg described the great in-home health care work being conducted by this <br />business and welcomed them to the City. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen was pleased that the traffic concerns along Cleveland Avenue had <br />been addressed when this case was brought before the City Council. He stated he fully <br />supported the request and welcomed this new business into New Brighton. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 1 Nay (Bauman opposed) - Motion Carried <br /> <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported staff was working on union negotiations at this time. He stated <br />he had successfully completed one contract and had two more to complete. He explained the <br />Hanson Park storm drainage project would continue into 2018. Staff was looking forward to <br />wrapping up this project and to have vegetation growing again. He provided the Council with <br />an update on the progress being made at the water treatment plant.
