November 14, 2017 Page 5 of 5 <br />Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman stated she had nothing to report. <br /> <br />Brian Strub <br />Councilmember Strub reported the Planning Commission would be meeting on Tuesday, <br />November 21st. He explained he had the pleasure of attending the CPY Annual Gala and <br />thanked the public for their support at this event. He stated he and his daughters attended the <br />Fire Department Open House and thanked the department for reaching out to the community. <br />He indicated on Thursday, November 9th he attended the employee recognition breakfast. <br /> <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported on Saturday, November 4th volunteers planted nine trees along <br />the Pike Lake Trail. She explained the Brightwood Hills Golf Course has closed for the <br />season. She announced the Eagles Nest had a ribbon cutting ceremony this evening and would <br />be holding a grand opening celebration on Saturday, November 18th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 <br />p.m. She reported this event would be a free event open to the public. <br /> <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported the Public Safety Commission met on Monday, November <br />13th where the group discussed body worn cameras. He commented on the feedback provided <br />to the City from a recent survey and noted the body worm camera policy would take into <br />account this input. He noted VIPS would be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, November <br />16th from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Public Safety Department. He encouraged all residents to <br />have a carbon monoxide detector installed with the new heating season. He stated he also <br />attended the CPY Gala and appreciated all of the public’s support at this event. He thanked all <br />of the New Brighton residents for turning out to vote for the recent election. <br /> <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson reported the Eagle’s Nest was a wonderful venue and she looked forward to <br />this space being reopened again for the public. She stated she attended the employee <br />recognition breakfast and thanked staff for putting on this wonderful event. She noted the new <br />license bureau was now open for New Brighton residents. She explained staff was working <br />diligently to get the bugs worked out on the MNLARS software system and stated letters have <br />been sent to local and State representatives to address these concerns.
