Consideration of Resolution Appointing Election Judges for the 2017 General <br />Municipal Election. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Strub to approve the Consent <br />Agenda as presented. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked the New Brighton Lions, TUV SUD and Ryan Companies for their <br />generous donations to the City for Lions Park. <br />Councilmember Burg thanked all of the election judges who would be serving the community during the <br />2017 General Municipal Election. She noted open voting was now being accepted at City Hall. Resolution Creating an Inclusive Community Task Force . <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg , seconded by Councilmember Strub to adopt a Resolution creating <br />an Inclusive Community Task Force . <br /> <br />City Manager Lotter stated Mayor Johnson and City staff has been talking with community <br />members and the City Council in recent weeks about creating a Task Force that would be <br />charged with various work directives related to ensuring New Brighton is an inclusive <br />community. The term inclusive community is being used to identify a community that has a <br />healthy sense of belonging and is seen as welcoming by as many people as possible. The <br />directives for the task force would be as follows: <br /> <br />1) Identify ways to continue existing and foster new partners within the three Mounds <br />View Public Schools within New Brighton. <br /> <br />2) Identify and recommend corrective actions to barriers and challenges such as <br />transportation, language, technological (communication outlets), institutional and <br />physical barriers that limit access to information and active engagement for <br />sociologically disadvantage, disabled, youth, elderly and communities. <br /> <br /> <br />5.
