trip up the vegetation and recommends denying the request to install painted crosswalks.
Commissioner Hollimon made a motion to deny the stop signs and the painted crosswalks and keep
the yield signs and trim up the vegetation; Commissioner Donohue seconded. Motion carried.

Area 4 – Consider changing the “no parking” signs on 13th St NW from May 1st – September, to year
round. Director Schlichting stated he would like to hold off on this one as they are currently
discussing this with the school and will revisit this request at a later date.

Area 5 – Consider resident or restricted parking to one side of the street on 12th Ave NW between 4th
and 5th St NW. Director Schlichting would like to hold off on this one as well due to the changes
currently being made to Hanson Park.

Area 6 – Consider “no parking” on the south side of 3rd St NW from Silver Lake Rd to 14th Ave NW.
Director Schlichting gave a brief background on this request. He recommends the request to add no
parking to one side of 3rd St NW should be denied and staff will continue to monitor parking
complaints in this area and remind residents of the existing parking provisions. Commissioner
Hollimon made a motion to approve this recommendation; Commissioner Donohue seconded.
Motion carried.

Area 7 – Consider no parking adjacent to 666 3rd Ave NW at sidewalk access to the street. Director
Schlichting gave a brief background on this request and there was additional discussion on other
areas like this in the city and if these areas are reviewed annually to see if parking restriction is still
needed. Director Schlichting recommends installing “no parking” signs in front of 666 3rd Ave NW.
Commissioner Donohue made a motion to accept this recommendation; Commissioner Schuman
seconded. Motion carried.

Area 8 – Consider no parking changes on 29th Ave NW adjacent to Hidden Oaks Park. Director
Schlichting gave a brief background on this request. He recommends some of the existing signs
should be replaced as they are worn out and recommends no additional signs. Commissioner
Donohue made a motion to leave signage as is but replace worn out signs; Commissioner Hollimon
seconded. Motion carried.

Area 9 – Consider traffic concerns on Robin Lane. Director Schlichting gave a brief background on
this request and the extensive history of traffic related actions. He believes most of the traffic is local
and this cannot be considered a school zone as those criteria are not met. Director Schlichting stated
no motion is needed and he will follow-up with the Public Safety Commission on this area later.

Area 10 – Consider street lights at the exits from Brighton Shores to Long Lake Road and Beach
Road. Director Schlichting gave a brief background on this request. He recommends working with
Xcel Energy to install the street lights. Commissioner Hollimon made a motion to approve this
recommendation; Commissioner Eichers seconded. Motion carried.

Area 11 – Consider parking lane striping on Stinson Blvd., and curb “bump outs” on Stinson Blvd.
and 5th St NW. Director Schlichting gave a brief background on this request and stated they will try
to work with the bus to take a left turn before dropping off kids and strip the parking lanes on that
portion of Stinson. There was additional discussion regarding if the bus will agree to this. Director
Schlichting states he feels the striping is the best option right now. Commissioner Hollimon made a
motion to paint the parking lanes on Stinson and to not install “bump outs” in this location;
Commissioner Conway seconded. Motion carried.
