11 <br /> <br />On April 24th and 25th, Officer’s Xiong, Nordus, Kostohryz and Sgt. Moore attended a <br />Street Survival Seminar. <br /> <br />Officer Nerison attended Crisis Intervention Training with lecture and practical role plays <br />to learn how to better engage with persons with mental health issues and how to de- <br />escalate situations. <br /> <br />Officer Riedel attended training on Sexual Assault Protocol. <br /> <br />Sgt. Nelson conducted a monthly shoot with a focus on “Shooting While Moving in <br />Reduced Light.” <br /> <br />On April 19th, Deputy Director Hamdorf participated in a Debris Management Tabletop <br />Exercise in conjunction with neighboring municipalities and Ramsey County Emergency <br />Management and Homeland Security. The tabletop exercise simulated a tornado striking <br />the area and staff developed plans to ensure proper debris removal and disposal. <br />Sgt. Emerson completed DMT recertification class thru the BCA. <br /> <br />Sgt. Singer attended BCA sponsored classes on “Certainty of Change” and “Police and <br />the Press.” <br /> <br />X. OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE <br /> <br />This section will review the ongoing administrative issues and meetings during the <br />month. This includes meetings, policy issues, ordinance changes, and personnel issues. <br />And, this also includes meetings of a county wide, regional, and/or statewide basis on <br />public safety related issues. <br /> <br />On April 12th at 1400 hours, a Police Leadership Team meeting was conducted. <br /> <br />On Monday afternoon, two panels of public safety staff interviewed 11 candidates for the <br />paid-on-call firefighter positions. After individually assessing each applicant, the <br />separate panels convened and passed along seven names for continuation in the process. <br />Second round interviews will be held next week. The Ramsey County Fire Chiefs <br />Association physical agility test is scheduled for May 6th. <br /> <br />On April 13th, Det. Lochen and Sgt. Moore were able to bring 178 guns, knives and other <br />weapons to Gerdau Ameristeel US in St. Paul where they were melted down and <br />destroyed. This is a free service that Gerdau offers to local police departments once a <br />year. <br /> <br />Director Paetznick met with Pastor Medson Chengula and his wife, Maka, from the Nduli <br />Parish, Iringa Diocese, Tanzania and provided them with a tour of the Public Safety <br />Center. One of public safety’s police-faith community partners, Christ the King Lutheran <br />Church, arranged for the meeting. <br /> <br />On April 24th, a Sergeants meeting was conducted. <br />
