<br />Mr. Scheib stated the next steps are to review and discuss the Comp Plan with the other city <br />commissions. Commissioner Allen asked where the entire Comp Plan can be found. Ms. <br />Gundlach noted the entire Comp Plan is online and copies are also at the public library. The <br />draft plan will be made available to all commissioners. Please give your feedback to Ms. <br />Gundlach. <br /> <br />Council Member Jacobsen asked the commissioners to look at the Comp Plan with a public <br />safety lense as well as a resident lense. <br /> <br />Department Reports <br />A. Allina Health – Renee Rosenberg <br />Ms. Renee Rosenberg, Allina Health, reported that Allina Health is working to be recognized by <br />Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) by putting together a package of <br />required information to obtain this accreditation. This is about a two year process that involves <br />the packet information and a site visit. When Allina Health attains the CAAS, they will be the <br />only ambulance service in Minnesota with this accreditation. <br /> <br />B. Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS) <br /> <br />Commissioner Allen reported the next VIPS meeting will be the 4th Tuesday of the month. <br /> <br />C. Public Safety Update – Director Paetznick <br /> <br />Director Paetznick noted the Fire and Police Stats. The Police stats show a 20% increase in Part <br />I crimes. After analysis of the thefts, it was discovered the majority of the thefts were gas drive <br />offs. Director Paetznick noted we are working with business owners to help educate them on <br />different business practices to help deter gas drive off crimes. <br /> <br />Director Paetznick noted that Tuesday, August 1, is National Night Out. All Public Safety <br />Commissioners are invited to join us and go out with city staff and visit NNO parties. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wagner noted the prescription drug drop off box. Director Paetznick reported the <br />drug drop off box is located in the main lobby at the Public Safety Center. We are working with <br />Ramsey County Public Health to dispose of the prescription drugs that are collected. <br /> <br />D. Human Rights <br /> <br />No report. <br /> <br />Council Liaison <br />A. Council Report – Council Member Paul Jacobsen <br /> <br />Council Member Jacobsen thanked HKGi for the Comp Plan presentation and encourages <br />everyone to review the Comp Plan and give feedback. <br /> <br />Council Member Jacobsen noted a donation was accepted at the June 14th Council meeting from <br />the For Jake’s Sake Foundation for Narcan kits. Director Paetznick reported officers have <br />already been trained on the use of the Narcan kits and these are out in the field. The Eagles Nest
