They were able to
stop the vehicle. Once stopped, the VCET officers located one pound of
methamphetamine and a stolen handgun. The driver and two passengers were arrested
and booked on those offenses.

On July 12th, VCET officers executed a controlled delivery of 25 pounds of
methamphetamine. Last year, they executed a similar controlled delivery on the same
individual. During that incident, $360,000.00 was recovered. During this incident, they
also utilized the HSI helicopter and the HSI SRT team. After following the target for the
afternoon, a telephone call was placed to him, indicating that the delivery was ready at a
South Saint Paul hotel. Upon the target arriving, the CI delivered 25 pounds of fake
methamphetamine to him. The HSI SRT team went in to arrest him in the vehicle. He
was holding a handgun upon their approach. He threw the handgun to the ground but
refused to exit the vehicle. The individual was maced with pepper balls and then taken
into custody. They then executed three search warrants (South Saint Paul and two in
Minneapolis). Approximately $160,000 was recovered, an additional 20 pounds of
methamphetamine, approximately 10 pounds of cocaine, six pounds of marijuana, 5
pounds of heroin, LSD and five firearms.

Det. Voeller signed a complaint against a 22 year old New Brighton resident for
Domestic Assault. Since the suspect has 4 previous qualifying domestic related offenses,
this became a felony level offense. This offense carries a maximum sentence of 5 years
and/or $10,000 fine. A couple days later, Det. DeBoer signed a complaint against the
same party for a felony level violation of a No Contact Order which carries a maximum
sentence of 5 years and/or a $10,000 fine.

Det. Voeller signed a complaint against a 21 year old Minneapolis man for Simple
Robbery. The maximum sentence is 10 years and/or a $20,000 fine.

Det. DeBoer was able to get a 15 year old charged with Motor Vehicle Theft. No
complaint is filled out due to the party being a juvenile.
