6 <br /> <br />Saint Anthony Police hosted the TZD Hi-Viz DWI Saturation on Friday, August 25, <br />2017, from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Eleven overtime funded officers and two volunteer reserve <br />officers focused on the roads around the Fairgrounds that yielded the following: <br /> <br />• 122 traffic stops <br />• 8 people taken to jail <br />• 6 DWI arrests <br />• 19 drivers cited for DAR/DAS <br />• 5 vehicles towed <br /> <br />On August 2, Officer Kostohryz stopped a vehicle for speeding and an equipment <br />violation. The driver, a 30 year old Minneapolis man, asked Officer Kostohryz if he was <br />a real officer as he was being followed by people. Also noted the driver was sweating <br />profusely and when asked he had engaged in any drug use lately, he admitted to doing <br />“meth.” The party failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. At the PD, <br />Officer Kostohryz got a search warrant for a blood draw. Officer Kostohryz was able to <br />successfully get a blood draw from the driver. The driver was transported to the jail and <br />booked for 3rd degree DWI. <br /> <br />On August 6, Officer Farmer stops a vehicle for a moving violation. The driver, a 27 <br />year old male from Blaine, shows signs of impairment. He fails field sobriety tests. At <br />the PD, the party refuses to take a breath test. Due to previous DWI’s, he is booked for <br />2nd Degree Test Refusal and his vehicle was forfeited. <br /> <br />On August 10, Officer Kostohryz made two separate 3rd degree DWI arrests on the same <br />shift. One driver was a 23 year old St. Anthony resident who tested at a .18 BAC and the <br />other driver was a 34 year old Minneapolis resident who tested at a .21 BAC. <br /> <br />On August 12, Officer Farmer stops a vehicle for a stop sign violation. The driver, a 36 <br />year old female from Mounds View, shows signs of intoxication. She is placed under <br />arrest after failing field sobriety tests. She provides a breath sample at the PD which <br />indicated a .10 BAC. She was booked on a 4th degree DWI. <br /> <br />On August 18, Officer Farmer stops a vehicle for numerous traffic violations. Officer <br />Farmer speaks to the driver, a 38 year old Mounds View man. Officer Farmer see the <br />signs of impairment due to stimulants. The driver fails field sobriety tests and is arrested. <br />A search warrant is obtained and a urine sample was submitted. The driver was booked <br />at the Ramsey County jail for 4th degree DWI. <br /> <br />On August 19, Officer Farmer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver, a 24 year old <br />Inver Grove Heights woman, showed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests. <br />The driver is arrested for DWI. At the station, she refuses to submit to a breath test. Due <br />to a prior DWI in the past 10 years, she is booked for a 2nd degree DWI-Test Refusal. <br /> <br />On August 19, Officer Kostohryz stops a vehicle for failing several moving violations. <br />The driver, a 39 year old female from New Brighton, displays signs of impairment and <br />fails field sobriety tests. A breath sample is obtained which showed a BAC of .23. The <br />driver is booked for 3rd degree DWI.
