Watermain

1. The watermain system within the site is to be considered private and shall be constructed and
maintained by the property owners. A permit will be required for all sewer and water connections and
shall be inspected by Public Works.

2. The city will require that with the new water service, a new curb stop must be installed. The condition
of the existing service stub is unknown and therefore could be found in disrepair. If this is the case
the main will be located, and City staff will work with the contractor to determine the proper connection
point. Update the plans accordingly showing the proposed service having a new curb stop (contact
Scott Boller for location and make of curb stop 651-638-2119).

3. The Engineer is proposing copper from the curb stop. The City allows for products like Endupure or
approved equals to be installed for the service pipe. This will eliminate all of the copper to copper
connection points which can be concerns for leak points.

4. The owner/engineer will need to obtain a permit from MnDOLI for watermain construction and internal
plumbing design.

5. The service pipe materials must be provided. Depending on the pipe type specific recommendations
will be provided.

Sanitary Sewer

1. The sanitary sewer services are to be considered private and shall be constructed and maintained by
the property owners. A permit will be required for all sewer and water connections and shall be
inspected by Public Works.

2. The existing sanitary sewer service needs to be televised before we allow for a connection as this
pipe could have issues. If necessary the contractor would be required to install a new service
connection to the main in 1st Avenue. Provide DVD/tapes to the City for review.

3. Details for the connection to the existing service need to be provided. A manhole or cleanout of
commercial grade are recommended. The surface feature needs to be able to accommodate heavy
loads.
