6 <br /> <br />D. Commission Reports on Parks <br />Driftwood: Johnson There has been some use of flag football on the <br />soccer field. <br />Freedom: Brunell. Park looks good. Skateboarding getting more use. <br />There are branches hanging near trail by left field. <br />Hansen: Fields. Tennis nets are sagging a bit on one end. Not anchored <br />in one of the corners. There is an air bubble under one of the courts on the <br />East side. Lots of Frisbee golf players. Portable toilets back in place. <br />Hidden Oaks: Quade. The park looked good. Also walked with his <br />Grandmother at Innsbruck Park; it was very nice. <br />Innsbruck: Axberg. No report. <br />Meadow Wood: Eischen. No report <br />Silver Oaks/Totem Pole: Justin. Floor boards weathered; need to be <br />looked at. Retaining wall has a tip to it. The picnic tables are worn and <br />weathered. The bike rack is on the bottom of hill, loose. There is activity <br />on the basketball court. Totem: there is a wet spot on west side. Fencing <br />around tennis court and around ball field needs some repair. The tennis <br />court is showing some cracks. There were dogs on the ballfield. <br />Basketball heavily used; playground not so much. <br />Sunny Square/Vermont: McEathron. Vermont is quiet. Portable toilets <br />back. Sunny Square: Area by fire hydrant has some dirt around. Bike rack <br />was on its side in the back. Pavement is always rough to bike over. Parks <br />Superintendent Chris Wolla heard some kids were trying to get a Frisbee <br />off the roof. <br />Veterans: Stenglein. The Park looks good. Saw a group doing workout <br />under pavilion. Roof on building needs replacement. Parks Superintendent <br />Chris Wolla stated the entire gazebo will be replaced. Commissioner <br />Stenglein stated he was talking about the park building has wooden <br />shakes on the roof. The shingles are getting weathered. <br /> <br />E. Department Happenings / upcoming events <br /> Golf Course opened on March 28th. <br /> Max Galaxy new software shows about 42% of registration is <br />happening online. Good to see people are utilizing it. <br /> Today first day of hiking club. They hiked around Long Lake. <br /> April 28th is Arbor Day. Tree planting will be at Hansen Park (changed <br />from Lions Park). <br /> <br />VIII.
