<br /> <br />Gundlach anticipated that the consultant would be drafting the questions but staff would relay the EDC’s <br />desire to have input on the survey questions. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Benke, seconded by Commissioner Allen to recommend the City Council <br />approve a Resolution regarding Sense of Place. <br /> <br />Approved 6-0 <br /> <br />Commissioner Carter questioned when the EDC’s next steps would be and asked how business retention <br />was being addressed. Chair Zisla reported the Resolution would be brought to the City Council and <br />anticipated the EDC would be reviewing housing programs next. <br /> <br />Chair Zisla requested the EDC receive an update from Open to Business in the near future. <br /> <br />Gundlach explained the City had a new website in place and reviewed the specific areas of the site that <br />addressed business retention and economic development. She reviewed the new website with the EDC. <br />She reported the City has had a difficult time marketing Open to Business to the public but described the <br />efforts that would be occurring in the coming months. She believed it would take time to get the word <br />out to local business owners. She explained that Rob Smolund would be brought in to provide the EDC <br />with an update at a future EDC meeting. <br /> <br />Gundlach shifted the discussion to the Comprehensive Plan and the consultant that was hired to assist <br />with the revisions and updates. She then noted the City was being considered for a ReScape/brownfield <br />award for the New Brighton Exchange on Thursday, November 17th. <br /> <br />APi Group, LLC Option Extension – Update on Council Direction <br />Gundlach provided the EDC with an update on the APi Group’s extension. She explained the Council <br />agreed with EDC’s recommendation to negotiate with APi. It was noted a conversation was held with <br />APi and they would be getting back to City staff. She indicated if the building were to sell the new <br />buyer would come under the same terms with the City. <br /> <br />Gundlach then provided the EDC with an update from the MPCA regarding the methane situation on the <br />New Brighton Exchange. <br /> <br />Adjourn <br />Motion by Commissioner Benke, seconded by Chair Zisla to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />6 Ayes, 0 Nays, Motion carried <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 8:39 am <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Janice Gundlach <br />Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development/Director of Planning
