Annual Report from Planning Commission Chair Erin Nichols-MatUti. <br />Planning Commission Chair Erin Nichols-Madmiti thanked the Council for their time and reviewed the <br />Planning Commission annual report with the Council. She i ntiud iced herself and reviewed the current <br />members serving on the Planning Commission con}zrlcnting on their role. She noted four members of the <br />Planning Commission had open seats at this time. It was noted the Planning Commission meets on the third <br />Tuesday of every month in the Council Chambers at 7:00 pm. She explained the Commission met 11 times <br />in 2017 and addressed over 20 land use cases. She commented further on development highlights from the <br />previous year and reviewed photos of the projects that were completed. The anticipated issues that would be <br />addressed in 2018 were described. <br />Mayor Johnson thanked the Planning Commission for their dedicated service to the City. She wlticipated <br />2018 would be a busy year for this group. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked the Planning Commission for volruitecring their time and the great work <br />they completed on behalf ofthe community. <br />Councilmember Burg stated she appreciated all of the great work being done by the Planning Commission as <br />well. <br />2. Annual Report from Economic Development Commission Chair Paul Zisla. <br />Economic Development Commission Chair Paul Zisla commented on the annual report from the EDC. He <br />thanked staff for assisting the EDC in completing vital work on behalf of the community. He noted the <br />members serving on the EDC in 2017 stating the group currently had two openings. He explained the EpC <br />met I l times in 2017 d continued to focus on physical redevelopment, businm reunion and expansiin, <br />place making (sense o place) initiatives anc housing programs. He reviewed the projects the EDC was apart <br />of in the previous year and discussed projects that would be addressed in 2018.
