<br />MINUTES <br />Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission <br />January 3, 2018 6:30 p.m. Meeting <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Fields. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Members Present: Commissioners Kevin Fields (Chair), Pam Axberg, Jack Brunell, <br />Megan Eischen, Zachary Johnson, Lawrence Justin, and Abe McEathron. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Nick Quade <br /> <br />Staff Present: Director Jennifer Fink; Recreation Supervisors Patrice Atkinson and <br />Lori Hokenson; Director Craig Schlichting, Coordinator Liz Amici-Floyd; and <br />Council Member Mary Burg. <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Axberg, seconded by Brunell, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion <br />carried 7-0. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Justin, seconded by McEathron to approve the December 5, 2017 Minutes <br />as presented. Motion carried 4 – 0 – 0 (Axberg and Eischen abstained.) <br /> <br />V. New Business <br /> <br />A. 2017 Recap and 2018 Annual Update – Craig Schlichting; Director of <br />Community Assets and Development <br />Director Fink stated one of her goals was to bring in outside speakers for the PREC to <br />hear from. She noted Director Schlichting was invited to attend this meeting to <br />provide the Commission with a presentation on the projects the City would be <br />completing in 2018. <br /> <br />Schlichting provided the Commission with a recap on projects completed in 2017 and <br />an update on the projects that would be addressed in 2018. He commented on the <br />City’s initiative to replace its high pressure sodium lights with LED’s and discussed <br />the cost benefits of replacing these lights. It was noted the City would continue to <br />replace lights throughout the City over the coming years. He described the
