Department Happenings/Upcoming Events <br /> <br />Director Fink stated staff was in talks with RISE to have them rent space from the <br />Community Center on a weekly basis for adult daycare. She indicated this was an exciting <br />opportunity for both entities. She noted she was applying for several grants for Hansen Park <br />and potential trail connections. She stated she would be hiring a new lead guest services staff <br />member for noon to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. She reported she would be <br />working more closely with Twin Cities Gateway, the local visitors’ bureau, on additional <br />marketing efforts. She commented on the revenues that were generated by the Parks and <br />Recreation Department in 2017 and in January of 2018. She noted the Eagle’s Nest has been <br />very popular for birthday parties. She thanked all who attended the recent community <br />bonfire at Freedom Park. She encouraged residents to get out and enjoy the City’s outdoor <br />skating rinks. <br /> <br />Chair Fields requested staff look into the potential of having cross country skiing trails within <br />a City park. <br /> <br />VII.
