<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission <br />October 3, 2018 City Hall <br />Council Chambers 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Fields. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Members Present: Commissioners Kevin Fields (Chair), Jack Brunell, Zachary Johnson, Abe <br />McEathron, Julia O’Rourke, Nick Quade and Mike Santi. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioners Pam Axberg and Matt Johnson. <br /> <br />Also Present: Director Jennifer Fink, Park Superintendent Chris Wolla, and Council Member <br />Paul Jacobsen. <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Johnson, seconded by McEathron to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried <br />7-0. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Zach Johnson, seconded by O’Rourke to approve the September 5, 2018 minutes as <br />presented. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />V. Business Items <br /> <br />A. Update on Fields and Turf Memo – Jennifer Fink, Director of Parks and Recreation <br />and Chris Wolla, Parks Superintendent <br /> <br />Director Fink stated as has been done in previous meetings, staff is working to present topics that <br />will not only give an overview of an area of responsibility, but also the services that are provided <br />to the community and how they might be changing as we look towards a comprehensive strategic <br />plan. Fields and turf reservations and maintenance are a big part of the Parks and Recreation <br />Department. Not only does the department gain revenue in the amount of about $13,000 per year <br />in field and turf rental, but it is also integral to the success of many of our sports and recreation <br />programs. <br /> <br /> Youth Soccer <br /> Youth T-ball
