<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission <br />November 7, 2018 City Hall <br />Council Chambers 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Fields. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Members Present: Commissioners Kevin Fields (Chair), Pam Axberg, Jack Brunell, Matt <br />Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Abe McEathron, Nick Quade, and Mike Santi. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Julia O’Rourke. <br /> <br />Also Present: Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Jason Hicks; Director of Community <br />Assets and Development Craig Schlichting; Recreation Supervisor Pat Tuma; and Council <br />Member Paul Jacobsen. <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br />Motion by Axberg, seconded by McEathron to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried <br />8-0. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Zach Johnson, seconded by Brunell to approve the October 3, 2018 minutes as <br />presented. Motion carried 6-0-2 (Axberg and Matt Johnson abstained). <br /> <br />V. Business Items <br /> <br />A. Solar Power Opportunities – Craig Schlichting, Director of Community Assets & <br />Development <br /> <br />Director Schlichting discussed the efforts the City has pursued to improve its energy efficiencies <br />throughout the community. He stated staff has been working for several years to install one or <br />more solar arrays on the City facilities. In order to get actual solar arrays on the City facilities, <br />staff has continued to work with developers for additional proposals. Staff reviewed a typical <br />proposal from iDEAL Energies for the installation of solar arrays on the New Brighton <br />buildings. This proposal could be applied to one or several of the following rooftops: <br /> <br /> City Hall <br /> Public Safety Building <br /> Public Works Maintenance Facility
