5 <br />Implementation <br /> <br />1. Orientation -The New Brighton Commission Member Expectations shall be included in <br />the regular orientations for new commission members and reviewed in full by the <br />commission in January of each year. <br />2. Compliance and Enforcement - Commission members themselves have the primary <br />responsibility to assure that the New Brighton Commission Member Expectations are <br />understood and followed and that the public can continue to have full confidence in the <br />integrity of the City of New Brighton. <br /> <br />If a commissioner engages in inappropriate behavior it is the responsibility of the city council to <br />police its commission members. When inappropriate behaviors are observed, the commission <br />chair or any member of the council shall intervene. <br /> <br />If inappropriate behavior is observed by a commission member, the city council will discuss the <br />behavior at a council work session. By direction of the council, it will be determined whether: <br />a. A letter is sent to the offending commission member from the Mayor stating that they <br />have been found operating outside the established New Brighton Commission Member <br />Expectations, requesting them to correct the behavior identified as inappropriate; or <br />b. The commission member is formally sanctioned by resolution at a council meeting. <br />c.
