November 13, 2018 Page 2 of 4 <br />City Clerk Spangrud reviewed the abstract results of the 2018 Special Municipal Election with the Council <br />and requested the Council canvass the results. She thanked staff and all of the election judges for their <br />assistance on the recent election. It was noted New Brighton had a great voter turnout both on election day <br />and through absentee votes. <br />Councilmember Allen thanked the City Clerk and her staff for all of their efforts during the recent election. <br />He asked if the City had enough election judges. City Clerk Spangrud stated the community rallies to fill <br />these positions but noted she was always seeking additional election judges. <br />Mayor Johnson stated she was proud of the fact the City had over 14,000 residents voting in this election. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen thanked all of the New Brighton residents for turning out to vote. He stated he <br />appreciated the number of precincts the City had in place as this assisted in keeping wait times down for <br />voters. <br />Councilmember Burg thanked all of the residents who voted and thanked staff for all of their assistance with <br />the election. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Jacobsen to Canvass the Election <br />Results from the 2018 Special Municipal Election. <br /> <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br />1.
