working on a site plan and redevelopment contract. This process will include review and
recommendations from the EDC to the City Council.

Gundlach explained this update is necessary as the Commission will be involved in the next
steps, whether it be selecting a developer or re-evaluating next steps should the informal
developer meetings not produce a redevelopment partner. Staff is looking for feedback from the
Commission on the process being undertaken with developer meetings and next steps.

Discussion included:
• The EDC discussed how the Council and EDC would work with potential developers on
this project.
• It was noted information regarding the Korean Church redevelopment would be provided
to the public at the February and March neighborhood meetings. Staff reported a
community engagement process would be undertaken once a redeveloper is selected.
• Staff reported the City Council had authorized staff to negotiate for the property at 629
Old Highway 8. This property would then be included in the Korean Church
redevelopment project. All these parcels would have to be rezoned for higher density
residential.
• The EDC was looking forward to hearing from staff after meetings were held with
developers. Staff was directed to provide the EDC with an update on the developer
meetings in March.

VII.
