Did you know New Brighton Parks and Recreation Department <br />operates a community center, golf course, parks and trails that offer the opportunity <br />to partake in your preferred form of exercise? Visit today and leave happy. <br /> Seniors from New Brighton Parks & Recreation, Roseville Parks and Recreation, and St. Anthony <br />Senior Services traveled to the Old Log Theater on Wednesday March 7. The group enjoyed a <br />delicious lunch and fun performance of the classic musical Guy and Dolls. <br /> Club 55 members gathered at the New Brighton Community Center for the bi-monthly Movie <br />Madness film screening. This month they enjoyed the comedy Home Again starring Reese <br />Witherspoon. <br /> On March 12, twenty-two 55+ adults gathered at the New Brighton Community Center to <br />refresh their safe driving skills and earn a discount on their insurance through the AARP Driver <br />Safety course. <br /> Group Fitness classes engaged 274 participants in a variety of classes from mind body to cardio <br />strength. <br /> <br /> PROTECTING NATURAL RESOURCES <br /> The City Forester has identified a pocket of approximately 50 trees infected with Emerald Ash <br />Borer in the Vermont Park neighborhood. All trees identified are located on private property. <br /> <br /> FOSTERING HEALTHY YOUTH DEVELOPMENT <br /> Recreation programs help keep kids off TV and computer screens. Did you know New Brighton <br />Parks and Recreation Department offers programs throughout the year? Register your child <br />today for spring or summer programs today. <br /> Spring aquatics at Highview Middle School is instructing 203 youth to learn to swim. <br /> <br /> SUSTAINING FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY <br /> The Eagles Nest was a popular choice for 3,903 kids during the 7 days of Mounds View School <br />District spring break. Through March 27, or spring break time in the metro area, 11,734 youth <br />admissions have been sold. <br /> <br /> SUPPORTING COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT <br /> The Eagles Nest continues to be a popular destination for children’s birthday parties! A record <br />number of 182 birthday parties were held at the Eagles Nest during the month of March. The <br />previous record of 157 parties was set in 2007.
