An officer on rear surveillance observed the male <br />enter the vehicle with the package and the Charger then continued down the alley. The <br />VCET team decided to stop the vehicle at the end of the alley so he didn't make it onto <br />the roadway. They activated their emergency lights and the vehicle nearly came to a <br />stop. The vehicle then accelerated and rammed head-on into a VCET Sergeant’s vehicle. <br />The Charger bounced off the vehicle and then accelerated toward our VCET officer. Our <br />VCET officer turned his squad but they T-boned and his vehicle went into a yard. He <br />again accelerated and fled the scene. Marked squads found the vehicle abandoned and <br />the person who accepted the package hid in a shed and was located by a St. Paul K9. The <br />Sergeant went to the hospital with some back/neck pains. <br /> <br />Our VCET Officer assisted Bloomington investigators execute a search warrant in New <br />Brighton on a 1st Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct. The suspect was taken into custody. <br />During the search, the knife he used and the shirt he was wearing was recovered. <br /> <br />On November 20th, the VCET team executed a search warrant in St. Paul. Upon <br />searching the residence, they located 266 pounds of marijuana and $117,000.00 in U.S. <br />currency. Three people were arrested and booked for Possession with Intent to <br />Distribute. <br /> <br />Based on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), <br />police officers and detectives executed a search warrant at a single-family residence on <br />Wednesday morning, November 22, to seize evidence of suspected online child <br />pornography sharing that was occurring at the address. <br /> <br />In partnership with the North Suburban Tobacco Compliance Check Program, Public <br />Safety recently conducted a series of tobacco compliance checks for all licensed retailers <br />in New Brighton. Saint John the <br />Baptist Church hosted the meeting. Discussion focused on community engagement, with <br />a specific request from Public Safety for the faith communities to consider participating <br />in the inaugural Community Chaplain Program that the department is developing to <br />provide proactive spiritual care resources to the employees of the agency. <br /> <br />Our VCET Officer attended Officer Krebsbach's quarterly meeting with the apartment <br />managers of New Brighton and surrounding areas. He also brought along the demo box <br />for them to see some narcotics they might encounter in their facilities. They also <br />discussed the high level of importance they play during narcotics investigations and how <br />ongoing cooperation helps everyone.
