Cases <br />per Detective 140 <br /> Clearance <br />Rate 94.5% <br /> <br />Public Safety received a letter from the Commander of the Ramsey County Violent <br />Crime Enforcement Team (VCET) commending our New Brighton police officer <br />assigned to the group for his recent investigatory work that resulted in the recovery of <br />over 100 pounds of methamphetamine, with a street value of over $850,000, and the <br />seizure of $44,000 cash in criminal proceeds. This is the largest meth seizure ever by a <br />VCET member and one of the largest seizures in state history. <br /> <br />Our VCET officer assisted in a buy/bust operation where the suspect sold the informant a <br />¼ ounce of heroin. The party was taken into custody without incident. The subsequent <br />investigation uncovered another ½ pound of heroin and $10,000 in cash. <br /> <br />Detective Voeller signed a complaint against a 28 year old New Brighton resident for one <br />count of Domestic Assault and one count of Domestic Assault by Strangulation. Each <br />count is a felony with a combined maximum sentence of 8 years in prison and/or a <br />$15,000 fine. <br /> <br />On November 15th, a New Brighton man was sentenced to 22 years in prison for the <br />choking death of a family friend. <br /> <br />Detective DeBoer signed a complaint against a 34 year old Blaine woman for two counts <br />of mail theft. Each count is a felony and carries a maximum sentence of 3 years prison <br />and/or a $5,000 fine. <br /> <br />Our VCET officer assisted with conducting a controlled delivery of a pound of <br />methamphetamine to a residence in St. Paul. They utilized an undercover officer dressed <br />as a mailman. A male party accepted the package at the front of the residence. Once he
