<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Public Safety Commission <br />March 12, 2018 City Hall <br />Council Chambers 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I. Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chair Allen. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call: <br />Members Present: Commissioners Allen, Boyd, Conway, Cook, Hollimon, Kessler, and Malone. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioners Ghouse, and Wagner. <br /> <br />Also Present: Director Tony Paetznick, Director of Community Assets and Development Craig <br />Schlichting, and Council Member Burg. <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda <br /> <br />Motion by Malone, seconded by Hollimon to approve the March 12, 2018 agenda as presented. <br />Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Malone, seconded by Hollimon to approve the February 12, 2018 minutes as <br />presented. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />V. Presentations and Public Hearings <br /> <br />A. I-35W MnPASS – Craig Schlichting, Director of Community Assets and Development <br /> <br />Director Schlichting stated MnDOT has completed a technical analysis of the expected traffic <br />operations on the local roadway system during the I‐35W North MnPASS construction project <br />from 2019 to 2022. He provided the Commission with an overview on the project details and <br />described the project timeline. The traffic impacts on New Brighton were discussed. He <br />reported the analysis identified expected traffic shifts during the construction and evaluated <br />impacts the diverted traffic may have on the local system. Based on the impacts, potential <br />mitigations were evaluated to improve safety and mobility during the construction period due to <br />the diverted traffic. <br /> <br />Director Schlichting explained the proposed mitigations located within New Brighton are <br />included for Council review.
