8 <br />On July 14th, DWI Officer Kostohryz stops a vehicle for multiple driving and equipment <br />violations. The driver displays signs of intoxication and fails field sobriety tests. It was <br />discovered that the driver gave a false name and an open bottle of alcohol is located in <br />the vehicle. The passenger was found to have warrants our for her arrest and was taken <br />into custody. After being taken into custody, the passenger went into a seizure and ended <br />up being transported to the hospital. The driver agreed to take a breath test which <br />revealed a BAC of .14. She was booked for 4th degree DWI. <br /> <br />On July 14th, Officer Pyka stops a vehicle for an equipment violation. A strong odor of <br />marijuana is detected in the vehicle. The driver admitted to recent marijuana use and is <br />showing signs of impairment. DWI Officer Kostohryz arrives on scene and conducts field <br />sobriety tests which the driver fails. The 19 year old is arrested for DWI and a search <br />warrant is obtained for a blood sample. The party is booked for 4th degree DWI. <br /> <br />On July 17th, Officer Amberg stops a vehicle for several moving violations. The 34 year <br />old driver from Illinois shows signs of impairment and fails field sobriety tests. The <br />party is placed under arrest for DWI. The driver is read the Implied Consent and refuses <br />to submit to a breath test. He is booked for a Gross Misdemeanor Test Refusal. <br /> <br />On Thursday, July 19th around 11:45pm, Officer Pyka stopped a vehicle for driving on <br />the center line. Upon approaching the driver, he observed empty beer bottles in the back <br />seat of the car. The driver smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. He was <br />arrested for DWI and provided an evidentiary breath sample that measured .09. He had <br />two previous DWI convictions so his vehicle was held for forfeiture. He was booked at <br />the Ramsey County Jail for 2nd Degree DWI. <br /> <br />On July 29th, Officer Pyka stops a vehicle where the driver admitted to having 2 to 3 <br />drinks. The driver failed field sobriety tests and is placed under arrest. The driver agreed <br />to submit to a breath test which revealed a BAC of .08. The driver was booked for 4th <br />degree DWI. <br /> <br />On July 31st, New Brighton squads responded on a robbery of person report. The victim <br />said he was contacted to hang out with old high school friend. Upon being picked up by <br />his old friend, the victim is pulled out of the vehicle by two juvenile males and then is <br />assaulted by the parties. One of the suspects implied that they had a knife. The victim’s <br />phone and money were stolen. <br /> <br />IV.
