INCIDENT RESPONSE INFORMATION

On August 1st, New Brighton squads responded to a report of a 42 year old New Brighton
man pulling a knife on family members and threatening to kill them. Upon their arrival,
they were able to take the party into custody without incident. He was booked at the
Ramsey County jail.

On August 6th, a resident in the 1100 block of Pike Lake Circle reported that sometime
between Sunday night and Monday morning, unknown persons entered his unlocked
work vehicle and removed three pieces of plumping equipment that had a combined
value of $17,000. The reporting officer checked the Automated Pawn System (APS) to
cross-reference recent activity of similarly described items but did not locate any
potential matches.

During the day shift on August 6th, officers responded to two separate incidents at
Crossroads of New Brighton at 2287 Palmer Drive involving a 97 year-old resident who
suffers from dementia that was first witnessed attempting to open vehicle doors in the
parking lot and later was walking the hallway knocking on doors. In both cases, he had
been left unattended by his Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) but was returned safely to
his apartment.

On August 7th, officers investigating a domestic disturbance in the parking lot of Long
Lake Regional Park between an adult male and his father. The Bomb Squad responded and took custody of the device to
determine whether or not it was inert and the incident remains an active investigation.

On August 8th, a male driver was texting on his cell phone as he drove by the lower level
parking lot for the police squads. After stopping the driver, DWI Officer Don Kostohryz
searched the suspect’s vehicle and found both suspected methamphetamine and a
reported stolen loaded Ruger semi-automatic handgun. The handgun was located
underneath the front seat. The driver was booked for DWI, controlled substance
violation, and possession of a stolen firearm.

On August 11th, officers responded to the gas station at Silver Lake Road and County
Road E on report of an overdose victim in the backseat of a car. Officers found the
victim with shallow breathing and turning blue. They administered two doses of
Narcan/Naloxone to the victim and assisted with rescue breathing until the arrival of
paramedics. The victim was transported to the hospital by Allina ambulance for
evaluation.

On August 11th, squads assisted Mounds View PD with a perimeter while looking for a
female possibly being trafficked by a male who carries a gun.
