14 <br />expected to start in early 2019. <br /> <br />Effective January 1, 2019, New Brighton will be expanding our existing firefighting <br />automatic-aid coverage, with a cooperative agreement to provide response for structure <br />fires in Fridley east of Central Avenue. Fridley will reciprocate by responding to similar <br />incidents in New Brighton in the northwest part of our city. No action is necessary by <br />New Brighton City Council as our existing agreement between the Ramsey County Fire <br />Departments for this type of response allows us to include additional <br />agencies/jurisdictions. <br /> <br />Officer Semanko attended Anoka Community Anti-Crime Commission annual event as <br />representative from NBDPS. <br /> <br />XI. RECOGNITION, NEWS AND INFORMATION <br /> <br />This section will include “good news” information about our public safety personnel. <br />This will include formal and informal recognition of the department and/or its personnel <br />on or off duty. <br /> <br />Following their recent Fall Conference that was held at the beginning of October, New <br />Brighton Police Detective Mike Lochen was appointed as a Board Member of the <br />MNSCIA. <br /> <br />Congratulations to Fire Captain Andre Barte, Fire Captain Chris Rother and Firefighter <br />Bryan Schmidt for completing the Twin Cities Marathon on Sunday October 7th!! <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Following a successful National Coffee with a Cop Day event at the Bru House earlier <br />this month, business owner Lynn Barton expressed an interest partner with Public Safety <br />to become an official Neighborhood Police Substation, and she is working with <br />Community Engagement Officer Krebsbach to make this a reality.
