2 <br />1. INCIDENT RESPONSE INFORMATION <br /> <br />Shortly before 6pm on September 1st, New Brighton officers assisted Troopers and <br />Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office deputies with a four-vehicle injury crash on northbound <br />I-35W between County Road E-2 and I-694 where one person was ejected. The interstate <br />was closed for a period. <br /> <br />On September 1, a 21 year old New Brighton female was arrested after she went after her <br />boyfriend with a scissors. The victim sustained minor injuries. The boyfriend did not <br />want us to take her into custody. <br /> <br />On September 1, a two-year child’s finger became entrapped in a plastic booster seat at <br />Perkin’s Restaurant. New Brighton Firefighters were able to remove the seat from <br />around the stuck finger without causing injury to the child. <br /> <br />On September 3, two juveniles suspects were detained in Totem Pole Park around 10pm <br />after a witness observed them looking into vehicles and trying to open doors handles on <br />cars in the Lakeside Homes community. The juveniles admitted to the tampering and <br />attempted theft. They were transported home to the custody of adults and will be <br />petitioned to juvenile court for their offenses. <br /> <br />On September 4 around 10am, officers responded to the US Bank on report of an elderly <br />couple who had accidentally crashed their vehicle into the building near the west <br />entrance. Nobody was injured but the vehicle was reportedly smoking and an employee <br />deployed a fire extinguisher to the engine compartment. The DCAD Building Official <br />was notified to respond and assess the structural integrity of the building due to the <br />damage caused by the vehicle. <br /> <br />On September 4 around 6pm, Public Safety responded to a residence in the 2600 block of <br />County Road E on report of two carbon monoxide detectors sounding inside the home. <br />First arriving police officers used their gas monitor and immediately found levels of the <br />colorless and odorless inside the house, quickly exiting to await the arrival of firefighters. <br />The occupants were evaluated for carbon monoxide poisoning but had no recordable <br />levels. The structure was ventilated and Xcel Energy responded to further assist the <br />homeowner with determining the source of the problem. <br /> <br />On September 5 around 2pm, Officers responded to Garden View Apartments on a <br />domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival, officers witnessed the suspect punch the female <br />in the face. The male was combative with officers when they arrested him, and the <br />suspect kicked the squad car causing over $2,900 damage to it. The suspect was booked <br />at jail and charged with criminal damage to property, obstructing the legal process, and <br />domestic assault. <br /> <br />On September 5 around 7pm, a mother advised that her 16 year-old son who was on <br />house arrest had removed his electronic monitoring ankle bracelet and fled from home. <br />After taking the report, Officer Thai Xiong later observed the suspect walking near <br />Irondale High School and detained him. The juvenile was transported to the Lino Lakes <br />Juvenile Detention Center as he had an active warrant for Motor Vehicle Tampering. <br />
