3 <br />On September 6, New Brighton Officers were dispatched to residence on report of a male <br />in crisis. Dispatch advised the party had made suicidal comments and had suffered from <br />undiagnosed depression. The officers located the male who was intoxicated and stated he <br />wanted to harm himself. A medical hold was placed on medical the party. The party was <br />uncooperative and required officers to use minimal force to gain compliance. No parties <br />were injured. <br /> <br />On September 6, the United Church of Christ at 1100 Long Lake Road reported that <br />sometime during the previous five days, an unknown suspect had removed 13 panels <br />from the roof of the building and damaged nine others in the process. Total replacement <br />cost was estimated at $30,000. <br /> <br />On September 8, New Brighton officers responded to Highway 88 and County Road D <br />for a reported motor vehicle crash. Squads found one vehicle in the intersection and the <br />other in the grass behind the Perkin’s Restaurant parking lot after it came to rest upon <br />crashing into a tree. Allina paramedics evaluated the occupants but nobody was <br />transported to the hospital. Both drivers claimed to have a green light when entering the <br />intersection, though one was northbound and the other westbound. <br /> <br />On September 8 around 5am, New Brighton officers assisted State Patrol Troopers with a <br />vehicle that crashed into a pole along I-35W at Highway 88 where the occupants fled on <br />foot from the scene. Officers located them walking on 5th Avenue SW near 1st Street <br />SW. The male provided false information initially but was identified in the field by the <br />IBIS unit and determined to have an active felony warrant for his arrest. The State Patrol <br />took custody of the suspect <br /> <br />On September 10, a resident of Sioux Boulevard reported that shortly before 7:30pm the <br />brakes on his vehicle failed as he was driving eastbound down the hill toward 16th <br />Avenue NW in the direction of Hansen Park. In an attempt to stop the vehicle, he <br />swerved and drove across the lawn of a couple yards before hitting a large tree and <br />coming to a stop near the attached garage of another residence. Nobody was injured. <br />Freeway Towing removed the damaged truck from the scene. <br /> <br />On September 11, squads were dispatched on a party lying in the middle of the dirt road <br />that was under construction. When they awoke the 21 year old male he became <br />combative to the point he needed to be handcuffed. The party displayed signs of <br />impairment. Due to his level of intoxication and his behavior, he was transported to <br />detox. <br /> <br />On September 14, squads and a detective were called to assist with the processing a <br />Burglary in the 500 block of County Road D where approximately $50,000 worth of <br />electronics were stolen from a warehouse during the overnight hours. <br /> <br />On September 15, a resident reported a suspicious vehicle parked since the previous night <br />with the windows down in the eastside lot of Hansen Park on Saturday. Officers found a <br />female sleeping inside. She had an active misdemeanor DWI warrant for her arrest. <br />Suspected methamphetamine was also found during an inventory search of the vehicle. <br />She was arrested for the warrant and possession of controlled substance and booked at the <br />Ramsey County Jail.
