7 <br />On September 8, Officer Kostohryz stops a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver <br />displayed signs of impairment and strong smell of alcohol coming from drivers breath. <br />The driver admitted to recent alcohol use and consented to field sobriety tests which he <br />failed. The driver was arrested for DWI. An open bottle of alcohol was located in <br />vehicle. The driver also had a revoked driver’s license status from a previous DWI <br />conviction. The driver agreed to take a breath test which revealed a BAC of .18. He was <br />booked at the Ramsey County jail for 2nd degree DWI. Vehicle towed by Freeway <br />Towing and held for forfeiture. <br /> <br />On September 12, DWI Officer Kostohryz arrested to separate intoxicated drivers during <br />his shift. One party had a BAC of .10 and the other had a BAC of .14. Each of the <br />intoxicated drivers was booked at the jal for 4th degree DWI. <br /> <br />On September 20, DWI Officer Kostohryz observed two suspicious vehicles in the <br />residential area of Eastman Drive and Silver Lake Road. When he stopped one, the other <br />vehicle pulled over as well. A passenger in the second car had an active warrant for his <br />arrest and was taken into custody without incident. The driver of the second vehicle <br />showed signs of impairment. He failed field sobriety tests and admitted to recent <br />methamphetamine use. A search warrant was obtained and a blood sample drawn from <br />the driver before he was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for 4th Degree DWI. <br /> <br />During her night shift on September 22, Officer Wodnick arrested two impaired drivers. <br />The first was stopped for committing multiple moving violations, and after failing field <br />sobriety tests, provided an evidentiary breath sample of .11. He was booked at the jail for <br />4th Degree DWI. The second was also stopped for a moving violation and he too failed <br />field sobriety tests. His breath alcohol concentration measured .21 and he also was <br />booked at the Ramsey County Jail for 2nd Degree DWI with his vehicle held for <br />forfeiture. <br /> <br />Shortly after 1am on Saturday, September 22, officers responded to the Circle K <br />Convenience Store at 201 5th Street NW on report of a possible impaired driver yelling at <br />customers and staff. Upon their arrival, the suspect refused to follow officers’ commands <br />and was detained with force. The male was intoxicated and store surveillance video <br />showed him driving to location. He was arrested for DWI but was uncooperative and <br />refused an evidentiary breath test. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail 2nd Degree <br />DWI Test Refusal. His vehicle was towed and held for forfeiture. <br /> <br />Besides the above listed DWI, the night shift made an additional 5 other traffic arrests <br />during the course of their shift. <br /> <br />DWI Officer Kostohryz, completing his final shift of our 4-year DWI Officer grant- <br />funded position, removed two impaired drivers from New Brighton roadways on <br />September 25. A male was arrested with a breath alcohol concentration of .15 and <br />charged with 4th Degree DWI. A female was arrested with a BAC of .23 and charged <br />with 3rd Degree DWI. Both were booked at the Ramsey County Jail. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
