<br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />Commissioner Fynewever expressed concern with the fact that loud music may be coming from Fit 4 Life and <br />feared that this may impact the surrounding businesses. Mr. Maravelas stated music will be played during <br />classes. He explained he would only be sharing one wall with another business and noted a buffer wall would <br />be created around the workout room to assist with capturing sound. <br /> <br />Commissioner Miwa inquired what the businesses growth potential was for this site. Mr. Maravelas discussed <br />his plans for the property and noted he had no plans to create a full-fledged gym, but rather to offer more <br />classes. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strub asked if this was a move for the business or an expansion. Mr. Maravelas stated he <br />would be moving his business to New Brighton. He explained he would have one full-time employee, himself <br />and his wife along with a handful of part time employees. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strub welcomed Mr. Maravelas to New Brighton. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fynewever asked if this gym would require patrons to check-in through social media. Mr. <br />Maravelas stated clients were not required to check-in but if they chose to do so, Fit 4 Life would donate 40 <br />cents to a local charity. <br /> <br />Commissioner Danger questioned if the applicant’s plans for the site had been reviewed by the Fire Marshal. <br />Planning Director Gundlach reported the applicant would be working with staff to finalize the plans through the <br />building permit phase with the Building Official and Fire Marshall. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Jones, seconded by Commissioner Danger to close the Public Hearing. <br /> <br />Approved 6-0. <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioner Danger believed this business would be a great addition to New Brighton. <br /> <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Miwa, seconded by Commissioner Murphy, to approve staff recommendation. <br /> <br />Approved 6-0. <br /> <br /> <br />Other Business: None. <br /> <br /> <br />Adjournment: <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Jones, seconded by Commissioner Danger, to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />6 Ayes, 0 Nayes, Motion carried. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:48 PM <br /> <br />
