PLANNING REPORT <br /> <br />DATE: May 15, 2018 <br />CASE: PSCI18-003 <br />SUBJECT: Special Use Permit to Allow Trailer Sales at 565 1st Street SW <br />APPLICANT: Voyd Trailer of MN, LLC dba Big Blue Boxes <br /> <br />REQUEST & BACKGROUND <br />The applicant is requesting a Special Use Permit to permit trailer sales 565 1st Street SW. The <br />extent of the applicant’s business is rental and storage of intermodal storage containers/trailers. <br />However, per the applicant’s narrative, they do keep one to five trailers on-site that are for sale. <br />The sales component requires the Special Use Permit. <br /> <br />The applicant recently moved his existing operation to 565 1st Street SW from the neighboring <br />property at 587 1st Street SW. The applicant secured land use approvals in 2016 for construction <br />of a small office building, but neglected to request the Special Use Permit for trailer sales for the <br />new property.
