Councilmember Burg requested the Council discuss which Commission they will serve on as a liaison for the
coming year. She stated she was open to serve on any Commission.
Councilmember Dunsworth stated her preference was to not serve as the EDC liaison. She believed that others
had a stronger skill set to serve with this group.
Councilmember Allen stated he was interested in serving with the EDC. The Council supported this request.
Mayor Johnson requested Councilmember Burg serve as the Planning Commission liaison. She asked that
Councilmember Dunsworth serve as the Public Safety Commission liaison and that Councilmember Jacobsen
serve as the PREC liaison. The Council supported these recommendations.
Councilmember Burg requested the Council consider honoring all outgoing Commission members to thank
them for their service to the City. Lotter stated he would reach out to these individuals.
Councilmember Allen stated another opportunity to honor these individuals would be to honor them at the
upcoming appreciation luncheon.
Councilmember Jacobsen indicated he would like to see Robert Allen recognized for all of his efforts.
Councilmember Dunsworth suggested a spotlight within an upcoming newsletter be focused on Robert Allen.
Mayor Johnson commented the City could focus on outstanding citizens of New Brighton at City Hall with a
picture and statement as well.
Councilmember Jacobsen supported a proclamation being drafted to recognize Robert Allen. Lotter thanked
the Council for the suggestions and noted staff would come back to the Council with further information on
how to honor outgoing Commission members.
Worksession adjourned at 6:16 pm
Respectfully submitted,
Sandra Daniloff
Deputy City Clerk
