Councilmember Allen anticipated Mr. Johnson would have a great point of view for the City's parks. <br />f Mayor Johnson thanked Mr. Johnson for his willingness to serve New Brighton. She reported the Council <br />{ would be making a decision on the positions this evening and he would be hearing from staff. <br />Lotter stated Mr. Johnson was the runner up for the City's Park and Recreation Director. He described a <br />conversation he had with Mr. Johnson and noted he was a real class act. <br />Discussion — Appointments to CLty Commissions and Task Force <br />Mayor Johnson requested the Council begin discussing the appointments. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen stated he supported Mike being appointed to PREC because he had participated in <br />local sports programs. The Council was in agreement. <br />The Council supported Julia O'Rourke, Mike Santini, Abe McEathron and Matt Johnson being appointed to <br />PREC. <br />Mayor Johnson stated she would like to see Todd Biedenfeld appointed to the Planning Commission and Matt <br />Palmeri being appointed to the Public Safety. Spangrud commented the Council had voted last year to change <br />the membership of the Public Safety Commission from ten members to nine. <br />Mayor Johnson suggested Tim McQuillan be considered for PREC. Lotter stated Tim may also be a good fit <br />for the task force. <br />Councilmember Allen stated he would like to see Rachel on the taskforce as well. The Council was in <br />agreement. <br />Mayor Johnson recommended Kelly be considered for the EDC. She stated she would also like to see Robert <br />Allen serve on the taskforce. She commented she wasn't sure if he was interested but believed he would serve <br />this group well. <br />The Council supported Clint Kuipers and Kelly Frush being appointed to the EDC. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen suggested Robert Boyd also be considered for the taskforce. The Council supported <br />Mayor Johnson reaching out to Mr. Boyd and Mr. Allen regarding the taskforce. <br />The Council supported Rachel Luong, Tim McQuillan, Robert Allen and Robert Boyd being appointed to the <br />inclusivity taskforce. <br />Lotter noted the Council had to make two more appointments to the Planning Commission given the fact they <br />had a recent vacancy and Vern McPherson would be stepping down. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen proposed Tim McQuillan and Kelly Frush be considered for the position on the <br />Planning Commission. This would allow Rachel Luong to be moved over to the EDC. <br />The Council supported this recommendation <br />Mayor Johnson requested that Rachel Luong and Tim McQuillan still be asked to be part of the taskforce as <br />well. <br />
