July 10, 2018 <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Allen to open the <br />Public Hearing. <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />The Public Hearing was opened at 7:03 p.m. <br />Mayor Johnson asked for additional comments, there were none. <br />Motion by Councilmember Jacobsen, seconded by Councilmember Allen to close the <br />Public Hearing. <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays - Motion Carried <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 7:03 p.m. <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried <br />Council Business <br />None. <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported the Council met with the DX Response Team in a Closed <br />Worksession earlier this evening. He was pleased to report the two new IT members would be <br />starting on Monday, July 16tH <br />Graeme Allen <br />Councilmember Allen reported the EDC would be meeting next on Tuesday, July 11th at 7:30 <br />a.m. where the group will discuss the New Brighton Exchange and the development that has <br />occurred over the past year. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported PREC would not be meeting in July. He stated PREC <br />would meet next on Monday, August 1St. He stated National Night Out would be held on <br />Tuesday, August 7th. He encouraged residents to register their parties with the Public Safety <br />Department or on the City's website. <br />Mary Bu1r <br />Councilmember Burg reported she was serving on the NYFS Board. She discussed a senior <br />program that was being created to assist seniors still living in their homes. She stated Chitty <br />Chitty Bang Bang was being put on by the Mounds View Community Theater this weekend. <br />She commented the Planning Commission would meet next on Tuesday, July 17tH. She <br />thanked the New Brighton residents for nominating her the Best Local Politician. <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson thanked City Manager Lotter and the DX Response Team for their update at <br />the worksession meeting. She discussed how the Council was working to rebrand the City and <br />was designing a new logo. She noted this new logo would be used on the sound walls in the <br />City. She encouraged residents to provide the City with their feedback on the logo.
