August 15, 2C <br />successfully completed his fourteen -week Field Training Officer (FTO) program and is <br />performing solo patrol duties. He welcomed Officer Joseph Pyka to the City of New Brighton. <br />City Clerk Spangrud administered the Oath of Office to Officer Pyka. A round of applause <br />was offered by all in attendance. <br />Councilmember Burg stated she had the honor of riding along with Officer Pyka on National <br />Night Out. She explained she was impressed by the rapport he had with the residents of New <br />Brighton and welcomed him to the City. <br />Councilmember Jacobsen stated Officer Pyka was joining a great force and welcomed him to <br />the New Brighton Public Safety Department. <br />Mayor Johnson welcomed Officer Pyka to the New Brighton family and stated she was thrilled <br />to have him with the City. <br />Officer Pyka thanked the City Council and stated he was very grateful to be working for New <br />Brighton. He explained he had a tremendous respect for all of the officers he was working <br />with and noted he looked forward to his continued service to the community. <br />Consent Agenda <br />1.
