August 15, 20 <br />she thanked all of the CTV staff for their efforts. She explained the Public Safety Commission <br />did not meet in August and would meet next on Monday, September l Otn. She thanked all of <br />the residents who participated in National Night Out. She believed this event was a huge <br />success. She was pleased to report that 4,087 pounds of food were donated and 2,295 pounds <br />of school supplies were donated to the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf. She noted the Ralph Reeder <br />Food Shelf would be having an Open House at their new location in Mounds View on <br />Tuesday, August 21St from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg stated she had the honor and privilege to ride in a vehicle during the <br />antique car run from New London to New Brighton. She reported this was a wonderful <br />historical event to have coming into this community. She thanked all of the volunteers that <br />worked so diligently to make Stockyard Days a wonderful success again this year. She <br />reported the Planning Commission would meet next on Tuesday, August 21St. She explained <br />NYFS would be holding their Taste of Northeast fundraiser on Thursday, October 1 lth at <br />Vadnais Heights Commons. The cost for this event was $30. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported PREC met on Wednesday, August 1St where the group <br />discussed a State-wide study regarding park needs. He explained the Community Center <br />would be closed the week of September Yd for maintenance. He noted pop-up fitness classes <br />would occur at Hanson Park during this week and would be free of charge. He thanked the <br />Stockyard Days Committee for planning and putting on a wonderful community event. He <br />thanked all of the local organizations for their assistance and volunteers. He stated he <br />appreciated all of the hosts and residents of New Brighton who participated in National Night <br />Out and noted the City had 150+ parties again this year. <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson thanked all of the volunteers who assisted with the planning and putting on <br />Stockyard Days. She thanked City staff for all of their assistance as well and was proud of the <br />way the community turned out for Stockyard Days. She reported Lions Park officially opened <br />during Stockyard Days and noted she had the distinguished honor of throwing the first pitch <br />over the plate. She thanked the New Brighton Lions for their generous support.
