Graeme Allen Councilmember Allen reported the EDC would be meeting next on Wednesday, October 3`d He explained the group would be discussing the redevelopment of the old New Brighton Elementary School. He encouraged residents to get registered to vote in order to participate in the general election which would occur on November 61h Emily I]unsworth Councilmember Dunsworth reported Wednesday, October 3`d was National Coffee with a Cop day. She invited the public to visit the Bru House from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to have coffee and cupcakes with local Police Officers. Paul Jacobsen Councilmember Jacobsen reported PREC would be meeting next on Wednesday, October 3`d at 6:30 p.m. He commented on the great work that has been completed at Hanson Park and noted he visited this park after the recent large rain event. He was pleased to report the trails and park were not underwater after receiving four inches of rain. He encouraged the public to visit Hanson Park. Mary Buri Councilmember Burg reported she attended the Tuesday, September 18th Planning Commission meeting. She stated NYFS would be holding their Taste of Northeast fundraiser on Thursday, October 11th at Vadnais Heights Commons at 5:30 p.m. She explained tickets were available in advance for $30 or could be purchased at the door for $40. Mayor Johnson Mayor Johnson reported the Council began discussing a potential change to the legal tobacco purchase age at the worksession meeting this evening. She explained the proposed change would raise the legal age to purchase to 21. She stated a public hearing regarding this issue would be held in the future. She indicated the Inclusive Community Task Force did not meet in September and would meet next on Monday, October 15th.
