December 11, 2018 Page 10 of 10 <br />Emily Dunsworth <br />Councilmember Dunsworth reported the Public Safety Commission met on Monday, <br />December 10th noting the group discussed body worn cameras. She commented on Saturday, <br />December 15th the New Brighton firefighters would be ringing bells for the Salvation Army at <br />Cub Foods. She noted she met with Dana Healy the Executive Director at CTV. She discussed <br />the great work that was being done at CTV since Dana had been hired. She wished everyone <br />Happy Holidays. <br />Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported the Planning Commission would be meeting on Tuesday, <br />December 18th. She thanked everyone for their great work in 2018. <br />Paul Jacobsen <br />Councilmember Jacobsen reported PREC met on Wednesday, December 5th where the group <br />received a presentation on the PHiT Bill. He explained PREC would not be meeting in <br />January. He commended Pat Touma for being inducted into the USSSA Hall of Fame. He <br />reviewed the numbers of guests that visited the Eagles Nest in 2018. He encouraged the public <br />to read the recent edition of the City's newsletter. He invited the public to attend the <br />community bonfire on Saturday, January 26th at Freedom Park from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. He <br />noted the Health and Fitness Expo would be held on Saturday, January 12th from 9:30 a.m. to <br />1:30 p.m. at the Community Center. Lastly, he send his condolences to the Char Samuelson <br />family. He then wished everyone Happy Holidays and stated he was proud of all the Council <br />and staff accomplished in 2018. <br />Mayor Johnson <br />Mayor Johnson thanked the citizens of New Brighton for support in 2018. She reported 2018 <br />was a remarkable year for the City. She commended staff for their efforts this year. She stated <br />she was very proud of the fact the City was back on New Brighton water. She thanked the <br />residents for their tremendous participation in National Night Out. She commented on the <br />City's new logo and tagline. She stated she was proud of the budget that was passed this <br />evening as it would keep the City moving forward in a positive, responsible manner. She <br />explained she was really proud of the fact the City would be moving towards even year <br />elections. She believed New Brighton was a great community because of its residents and staff <br />members.
