.

Mark Barton expressed that he prefers to keep any expansion away from the wild flower
area. Adding 6 holes sounds aggressive.

Mike Neeley, lives on1ih Ave on the cul-de-sac. He faces the disc golf course on the
north and west and the cul-de-sac on the East. He is affected by what happens. The
City should be proud of this aspect of the park. He hasn't seen any bad problems. He
has a recreation degree. He has had litter problems only when the garbage barrels are
full. More frequent trash removal would help. He would be disappointed if the Park
Commission decided to start charging to play disc golf. There are so many kids and
families. He would not want the kids to have to pay. His experience with the Frisbee
golfers is that they are kind and courteous. He would like to see the Commission find a
way to put the expansion in an unused area of the park. When you compare $50,000 to
a tennis court or parking lot, $5,000 sounds like a deal. He is concerned about the
parking on 1ih. He would like to have visitors to his home without the parking concern.
Parking in the middle of the cul-de-sac is a safety concern. There must be a way to
keep the people coming and solving the parking issue at the same time.

Jane Braun stated she walks and snow shoes in the park. She has found the disc
golfers very courteous. She likes the comments about putting something in the wooded
area to open it up. She has seen kids using the area behind the neighborhood center
so she does not believe that putting a disc golf hole there is a good idea. Moving the 1 st
and last hole closer to the parking lot is a good idea.

Mark Barton asked if any paths would need to be crossed.

.

Brian said only one.

Tom Fuller said put the 1st hole close to the parking lot, but not necessarily the last
hole.

Brian stated the last hole does not need to be close to the parking lot. No one will have
a problem with that.

Steve said from a staff perspective we have identified several issues. Focus on the
area by the hockey rink/tennis court for the 1 st hole. He is concerned about removing
any trees in the park because the trees are very susceptible now because of the
buckthorn. Steve likes the idea of encouraging the use of the large parking lot by the
design of the course. Also want to give residents on that side of the park, the
opportunity to voice their opinions. Steve said he will have staff make some
recommendations and bring it back to the Commission.

Ed Greacen suggested bringing some of the professionals back to help.

Brian stated he does not smoke or drink. He feels banning alcohol will not stop the use;
it will still happen. Enforcement is the issue.

Steve asked how many disc golfers are non-residents. Steve guessed it is more than
half.

.

5
