<br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />Commissioner Frischman recommended additional landscaping be planted in the development. She <br />suggested a berm be considered across from the northern boundary. Mr. Mentz reported the <br />landscaping plan was extremely preliminary. <br />Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola recommended Condition 34 be <br />added to state: The applicant is required to provide additional landscaping and berming along the <br />northern property line to provide more vision separation between existing residents and the new <br />buildings. <br />Commissioner Biedenfeld stated he would also like to see a condition addressing the balconies. <br />Assistant Director of Community Assets and Development Gozola suggested Condition 35 read: There <br />shall be no north facing balconies on corner units on the northeast corner of the senior housing <br />building. <br />Commissioner McQuillan thanked all of the residents that came forward and voiced their concerns. <br />He explained there were several neighborhoods in the City that have been identified for <br />redevelopment and not just this one. He reported affordable housing is an issue that has been <br />identified by the State as a major concern for the area’s workforce. <br />Motion by Commissioner Biedenfeld, seconded by Commissioner Frush, to approve staff <br />recommendation as amended. <br />Approved 7-0. <br /> <br />VII.
