Accept the amended Proposal for Engineering Services for City Project 18‐12, City Hall Roof,
HVAC/Boiler and Skylight Replacement.
2. Approve Plans and Specifications.
3. Authorize Advertisement for Bids.

Legislative History: This work was identified in the 2015 Roof Management Report and has been
included in the City Hall Non‐Fleet Replacement Program.

Financial Impact: The proposal for engineering services from Inspec is divided into two parts – design
and construction phase services. This roof was new in 2005 and has reached the end of its service life. The existing roof is in disrepair,
leaking in some spots, and has other deficiencies consistent with its age. The area proposed to be
replaced is approximately 9,700 square feet. The existing EPDM roof will be replaced with a built‐up
roof, which has become the City standard. Additional improvements at City Hall include the
replacement of two roof top HVAC units, two boilers, and an architectural skylight. Each of these items
are included in the non‐fleet replacement plan. After speaking with Inspec, all of these elements need
to be replaced at the same time. The estimated construction cost is as follows:

Report Number:
Agenda Section: Consent
Report Date: 1/14/2019
Council Meeting Date: 1/22/2019
