Cost for Built‐up Roof
HVAC/Boilers $400,000
Roof $269,000
Atrium/Sign on Concrete $130,000
TOTAL $799,000

The proposed built‐up roofs have a life expectancy of 25 years; the Atrium is projected to last 30 years
and 15‐20 years for the HVAC/Boilers. The bids will be due back in the winter of 2019 with a proposed
spring/summer installation.

During the design process INSPEC performed additional structural analysis to verify the design weights
of the replacement skylight and HVAC units. To address loading concerns near the future HVAC system
the existing roof top screening is proposed to be removed, and new roof drains will be added to collect
drainage. These items were not anticipated with original quote, and are added to the amended scope
of work and estimate. A general contractor fee and 10% contingency bring the estimated construction
cost to $959,000.

Costs and Funding: The total cost of this project including engineering will be funded from Fund 604‐
2119‐46200.

______________________________________
Craig G. Schlichting, P.E.
Director of Community Assets & Development

Attachment: Professional Service Agreement (amended January 8, 2019)
Plan Cover Sheet
